I have been out and about recently at several events, networking group meetings, CEO Roundtables, Board Meetings, etc… and the conversation and/or observations have been about the current state of affairs – post Pandemic. Yes, everyone is dealing with increased pricing, supply chain and staffing issues. That is just the way of the world right now thanks in large part to the world being placed on pause due to COVID-19.. The other topic that is less visible is the effect that the isolation and stress that was caused during and by the pandemic. Many seem to be anxious, depressed, on edge with less patience and sometimes meaner or inconsiderate. The constant news concerning the war in the Ukraine can accentuate this. I can share that during my Leap Year of Firsts the firsts that I experienced each day provided me a thread of sanity in what seemed to be a world of insanity. It gave me something to look forward to each day. I provided me with experiences to learn from. It provided me opportunities to choose kindness in helping others through the crisis..
One thing we can do individually is to recognize this and Choose Kindness, with a little understanding and some empathy! You never know what is really going on with someone. Handle people with care😊
